This significant, internal chamber accommodates 10 quarts of sunflower, safflower, or mixed seed, and a line of windows beneath the roof overhang makes monitoring levels simple. A horizontal feeding trough below the windows enables small birds to dine, and a weight sensitive, wooden perch in front of it offers resting spots. If a larger animal puts its weight on this perch, a metal plate descends to fully cover the feeding area, preventing them from dining.
