The 7" x 5" platform at the top of this bracket securely attaches to the flat bottom of your item, while the extended neck connects to a standard 4 x 4 wooden post. Use the included screws through the predrilled holes on the neck to secure it to the post, and use extra screws through the holes on the platform to keep it connected to your item.
