The seed tube is made of 0.25" stainless steel mesh which holds 2.5 quarts or 3.75 pounds of sunflower seed. The mesh offers plenty of room for smaller birds to cling and dine, and the internal seed baffle design ensures that the feeder empties completely. The open mesh construction keeps the seed level visible at all times, while seed remains fresh and dry. Eight drainage holes around the bottom tray also help prevent seed rot. For added protection from wind, a tab lock slides down the wire hanger and locks the feeder roof into place. Easily fill and clean this feeder by sliding the metal roof up the included hanger. The brushed copper finish on the metal cap and base bring an air of sophistication to this unit.
