Small and thin pieces often look best on narrow walls, while larger pieces occupy just the right amount of space on wide walls. In addition, when placing sculpture above furniture, it is usually recommended to ensure the art is 66% to 75% the width of the item it is above. This will help you ensure the table or couch is not overwhelmed by your artwork. Keep in mind, though, that this is your home, and the arrangement you like best should be the one which graces your wall.
