The New Trend of Wall Sculptures
Nothing makes us more relaxed and rejuvenated than time spent at home, and adding personal touches turns your house into a comfortable refuge. Mankind has been adorning the walls of our living space for centuries, from cave drawings, to tapestries, to murals and portraits. A new fashion, recently increasing in popularity, is using metal sculptures on your walls as art. These pieces have proven to be truly versatile, allowing you to showcase your personal style easily.
One reason for the popularity of metal wall art is its incredible range. When crafted from metal, they look as fantastic on an outdoor wall as they do inside. The themes range from traditional, such as farm animals and eagles, to abstract panels and modern flower shapes. They can also be small, for a charming feature, or occupy a large space to create a focal point in your outdoor living space. Many also integrate other materials, such as glass or mirrors, for a bit of contrast. Small keyhole openings or hangers on the backs of the sculptures make placing them on the wall simple, and allow you to reposition or change the decorations seasonally. While there are no steadfast rules for displaying your wall art, there are some general guidelines for placing it. Ensuring the center point of the decoration sits at or just above eye level allows most visitors to your home to enjoy it. Using several similarly sized items in a line brings symmetry to the area, while placing differently sized sculptures with a similar theme creates a more contemporary arrangement. Small and thin pieces often look best on narrow walls, while larger pieces occupy just the right amount of space on wide walls. In addition, when placing sculpture above furniture, it is usually recommended to ensure the art is 66% to 75% the width of the item it is above. This will help you ensure the table or couch is not overwhelmed by your artwork. Keep in mind, though, that this is your home, and the arrangement you like best should be the one which graces your wall. Since prehistoric times, wall art has been used to enhance living spaces. Metal artwork and sculpture is fast becoming one of the newest and most popular ways to adorn your living room or patio wall. The themes and options are limited only by your imagination, allowing you to create a truly unique environment and showcase your style. BestNest carries a large selection of sculptures in our Wall Art and Decor department to help you meet your needs.
