A wooden block around this entry keeps squirrels and raccoons from reaching the nest, and a ladder inside the front panel helps nestlings exit when ready.
Slots below the roof overhang aid in ventilation and temperature regulation, while corner gaps on the base allow any captured water to drain. One side panel lifts for occasional nest checks, and latches closed for avian safety.
