This innovative feeder uses a weight sensitive design to protect seed from both red and gray squirrels. A clear plastic tube is covered with a metal mesh shroud, for the enjoyment of clinging birds. If a squirrel jumps onto the feeder, the shroud lowers over the seed ports, preventing them from reaching the seed. The shroud offers several surfaces for clinging birds, such as nuthatches and goldfinches, to grip, allowing more songbirds to enjoy this feeder. The four base ports each have a "U" shaped perch for additional resting room. The bold design of the seed tube ventilation system allows warm air and humidity to escape the feeder from vents near the metal roof. Fresh air then enters the reservoir from the perforated metal tray at the bottom, keeping seed fresher than traditional tube feeders. The feeder holds up to 0.75 quarts of seed, allowing several to be placed around your bird sanctuary. Use the included metal rod and cover to hang this feeder at least 16" away from a secure foothold for any squirrels.
