The sloping roof overhangs the entry hole, working with the interior drainage holes to keep the house dry. Ventilation holes allow air circulation and ensure that the temperature isn't too hot for baby birds. There is no perch to attract sparrows or other invaders. Open the latched front door to check the status of your nesting wrens or to clean out old nests at the end of the season.
