Grow fresh basil in an environmentally friendly way with the Rosso's Sweet Basil Biodegradable Pot Grow Kit. This package contains a pot, seeds, and soil for you to begin your own herb garden, allowing you to create delicious fresh pesto or flavor your vegetables. An included soil disc expands in water, creating a healthy and safe bed for the included sweet basil seeds, and aerates with ease for a perfect plant. The dark brown hue of the pot lends a natural feel to the unit, and its convenient size allows it to sit on your countertop or a deck with ease. A drainage hole in the center of the pot prevents overwatering, and the attached saucer catches excess moisture from the soil. Crafted of bamboo, this pot will naturally weather and begin to show cracks after a few years of use. As the cracks become visible, the basil and pot may be planted in the ground, where the pot will decompose over time, adding nutrients to the surrounding soil. The herbs may also be replanted into the ground, and the pot placed in the trash. It will biodegrade in 3 to 6 months, lessening waste in landfills.
