The bottom has the phrase "Light is the shadow of God," with a raised crescent moon and stars beneath it. The top features a sun in relief with rays emanating from it, and a few clouds. Two angels in relief flank the center of the dial, and Roman numerals surround the top three sections of the item. Polished brass accents the raised sections of this dial, to better contrast the verdigris background. Connect the verdigris and brass gnomon to the dial and orient it to celestial north. The shadow cast by the gnomon will fall on the numerals, indicating the time. Mount this unit to a Rome pedestal with the included hardware.
