The innovative design of this filter offers a comprehensive solution to pond care. The sturdy, black plastic canister houses a filter mat which helps remove suspended particles, as well as biological media on the bottom which converts nitrites and ammonia to nitrates and oxygen. These media have uneven, complex surfaces to provide maximum residence for beneficial bacteria. The center of the unit has an included 40 Watt ultraviolet clarifier, which destroys bacteria with its powerful light, eradicating any water borne algae. An inlet and outlet at the top of the filter create a passage for your pond water, and the two included barbed adapters attach to flexible tubing from 3/4" to 1 1/2" in diameter (not included). A sturdy, pressure lock metal ring at the top of the canister forms a water tight seal. Pair this filter with an appropriate pump, creating a healthy and balanced water feature.
