| Opus Universal Bird Feeder Pole, Gray, 7' x 1" O.D. The Opus Universal Bird Feeder Pole is a complete system for base mounting, pole mounting, or hanging nearly any bird feeder or house. Mount any wooden bird feeder or house with the 2.75" plastic flange mounting adapter and pole mount any feeder or house that accepts a 1" outside diameter pole. The generous 9.5" plastic hanging arm serves to hang anything with an 18" diameter or less. The 84" pole is light grey steel and comes in four sections, 1" outside diameter. The plastic flange includes four 3/4" wood screws for mounting. A ground socket is included for easy removal of the pole when servicing the feeder or house.
Instructions: Dig a hole 6" in diameter and 12" deep. Tape one end of the ground socket to ensure that it does not fill up with concrete or dirt and place it in the center of the hole. Slide the lower section of the pole into the ground socket. Ensure that the pole is level and tie it to stakes set at three points around the hole. Pour concrete around the ground socket and fill the hole 8" and backfill with dirt after the concrete has cured (you may also backfill dirt into the hole and tamp it around the ground socket rather than using concrete). Do not install the remaining pole sections until the concrete has completely cured.
Place the middle section of pole onto the bottom section securely. Repeat this process for the remaining poles. You may adjust the pole height by removing one or more pole sections.
For base mounting, attach the flange to the base of the wooden bird feeder or house using the included 3/4" wood screws. Slide the flange over the top pole. When you service the feeder or house, simply slide the flange up and off the pole with the feeder or house attached.
