La Crosse Wireless Forecast StationKnow the weather before you leave the house with the La Crosse Wireless Forecast Station. This compact unit notes several facets of the weather on one convenient screen. The top line of the screen has the time in either twelve or twenty four hour format. The time can be set manually, or received via an internal antenna from WWVB in Fort Collins, Colorado. This radio station broadcasts the time according to the atomic clock in Boulder, Colorado, and the signal can be received from up to 2,000 miles away. This function may be turned off and the time set manually if desired. Program your time zone into the unit, and turn the Daylight Savings Time function off if necessary. The second line notes the date and day in English. The third line features a sunny, partly cloudy, or rainy icon and up or down arrow. The arrow indicates if the air pressure is rising or falling, and the icons forecast the weather tendency. A sunny icon indicates the weather is expected to improve, the partly cloudy icon appears if the weather is expected to remain the same, and the cloudy icon notes if the weather is expected to worsen. The following line has the indoor temperature in your choice of Fahrenheit or Celsius. Next to the temperature is the percentage of relative humidity. A comfort level indicator rests between these two displays. A happy face appears if the temperature is between 68° and 79° Fahrenheit, and the humidity is between 45% and 65%. A sad face icon appears when the temperature and humidity are outside these ranges. The bottom line has the outdoor temperature in either Fahrenheit or Celsius, received from the included outdoor sensor placed up to eighty feet away. This unit can receive information from up to three separate sensors. If more than one sensor is used, each has a number. The number of the sensor from which the visible data was received appears on this line as well.
This unit also may function as an alarm clock, equipped with dual alarms. If an alarm is set, an icon appears next to the date to indicate which alarm will sound. Press the snooze button to silence the alarm for five minutes if desired. The screen will backlight for five seconds when any button is pressed. This clock records the minimum and maximum indoor and outdoor temperatures and the time and date of each occurrence. These records can be seen by cycling through the function buttons on the piece. The black and gray casing creates a thoroughly modern accent, and the small size allows it to be placed virtually anywhere. The indoor station and remote sensor both run on two AA batteries (not included). Place this station on a flat surface with the included stand, or mount it to a wall. Use the included bracket and hardware to mount the outdoor sensor to a north facing wall, out of direct sunlight and protected from rain. Have all the necessary weather information readily available with this Wireless Forecast Station. One year limited warranty.
