This dramatic angle keeps water from entering the shelter, while forming the traditional saltbox shape. The roomy, unpainted interior is safe for avian families, with a ladder beneath the entry assisting nestlings in reaching it. Two drainage holes on the base help the nest remain dry, and a ventilation slot beneath the roof overhang regulates temperature. A significant back panel can be removed easily for nest checks, and the flat base allows the item to sit on a pole or post with a mounting bracket (not included). With its flat back, the home may also attach to a fence or wall using the attached keyhole type bracket.
