The steeply pitched roof has individual pine shingles, forming a highly detailed and beautiful item. A porch with knewel style railings, a top balcony, and an imitation door grace the front of the unit, with gray trim on the posts, along the roof, and in each window frame for added color. Faux windows along the sides of the unit lend more realism and style to the unit, while red fabric flowers in hanging baskets and flower boxes complete the cozy look. A 1.25" diameter entrance hole rests at the top of the roost, allowing small birds access to the house. The deep design of the abode offers a significant amount of room for songbirds, and a ladder beneath the entry hole helps nestlings reach it when it is time to learn to fly. An overhang on the roof and drainage holes on the bottom of the shelter keep nests dry, for a healthy home. The back panel may be fully removed for seasonal cleanings and nest checks, and the unpainted interior remains safe for the birds. The wide, flat base mounts easily onto a pedestal or post (not included), and four fabric discs allow the home to remain indoors without scuffing furniture.
