Combining the durability and design of the Absolute line of feeders with realistic architectural details, this feeder will certainly add a new dimension to your bird sanctuary. The silver colored, metal roof and brown, powder coated steel body evoke a country store, with ridges on the roof hinting at corrugated tin. The included metal topper is designed to be attached to the feeder roof, creating a sign which reads "Feed & Seed," advertising the bounty. Additional decals may be placed on the two end caps of the feeder, creating a rural store atmosphere. This large unit holds a generous 9.5 quarts of cracked corn, safflower seed, or sunflower chips, which birds can access from the openings on the base. A wooden perch with a weight sensitive mechanism sits in front of the feeding area, inviting birds to rest there to dine. When the set weight is surpassed, a metal cover extends downward, covering the seed, to prevent larger birds or other animals from stealing it. Use the adjustable thumb screws on two sides of the item to allow small, medium, or large birds to dine. Lift the roof of the feeder upward, locking it in place with the innovative TopLoc system to clean and refill the unit. A squeeze tab at the back of the piece keeps the lid closed, further deterring squirrels. Use the included mounting bracket and hardware to place the feeder on the included metal pole and no-rust ground socket.
