This hand-held unit has a large dial which indicates the wind speed in miles per hour, meters per second, and the Beaufort scale. This scale ranges from zero to twelve, with zero being calm and twelve being hurricane force winds. The meter has precision movement, with sapphire jewel bearings and a gold plated precision balance spring. The dial will remain smooth and average any gusts using a magnetic circuit. To gain an accurate reading, simply point the Wind Wizard in the direction of the wind, allowing the breeze to move the meter. The dial on the screen will turn appropriately, giving the wind speed. This plastic unit includes an attached lanyard to wrap around your wrist, and a black vinyl case for protection.
