The deep design of the body offers ample room for an avian family, and the generous 9" diameter roof protects it from precipitation. Alternating stripes of light and dark wood encircle the roof, and the light color of the body and dark wood on the base further the look. Finials on both the top and base of the home complete the elegant theme. The significant depth of the cavity helps protect nestlings from predators, and two drainage holes at the base keep the nest dry. Ventilation holes on the top of the home aid in regulating temperature, and the roof is designed to be secured to the home with the two included screws. A metal predator guard surrounds the 1.5" diameter entrance hole, preventing it from being enlarged, and its brass color matches the top hanger. Use this metal hook to hang this home from a bracket or branch, creating a versatile look in the yard. The waxed finish creates a smooth and water resistant unit, and the roof may be removed at the end of each season for maintenance.
