One side panel swings upward and has a plexiglass panel underneath. This allows you to observe your bluebirds but not disturb them. The "L" shaped hook keeps the door securely latched when not open. The other side opens completely for seasonal cleanout and maintenance. A wooden predator guard around the entrance hole protects the birds, and ventilation slots at the top of the home keep air circulating. Drainage holes in each corner of the base keep the nest dry, and the slanted roof prevents water from leaking into the box. The rough interior enables fledglings to climb out of the home, and the solid eastern white pine construction creates a natural abode. This box will age to a beautiful gray color over time, and will never need stained or painted. Hang the home on a building or post with the included metal hanger.
