| AcuRite Self-Emptying Wireless Rain Gauge Easily monitor the rainfall in your garden with the AcuRite Self-Emptying Rain Gauge. The unique design of this gauge makes measuring rainfall more accurate than ever. The top line of the indoor display has an alarm that will sound when the rainfall has reached your preset increment, from 0.5" to 5". An umbrella icon with a bell underneath notes that the alarm is currently turned on. The next line offers the total rainfall, and you can choose to display it from the past twenty four hours or cumulatively. An icon on the bottom line notes if this is total accumulation or from the past day. Three function buttons on the right side of the unit allow you to set the alarm, alter or clear the display, and show the rainfall in your choice of inches or millimeters. The rain information is gathered from the included collector, placed outdoors up to one hundred feet away. The extra wide, 6" diameter collector captures more water, and its deep form prevents water from splashing out and in. A removable screen aids in collecting debris, so it does not ruin the gauge. The base of the unit is self-emptying with a tipping bucket design, for minimal maintenance. Dramatic green colored plastic creates the base of the collector and frames the main unit, for an exciting finish. Dark gray accents on the main unit and the light gray collector complete the look. The indoor station uses three AA batteries (not included) for power, while the collector runs on two AA batteries (not included). Place the collector outdoors on a flat surface, away from trees or overhangs for accurate rainfall, and place the indoor station on a table or other flat surface for ease in checking the item.
