Feed select birds and reduce seed waste easily using the Brome Squirrel Buster Wild Bird Peanut Feeder. The clever design and robust materials combine to form a feeder that you will certainly enjoy for several seasons, while deterring squirrels. The plastic seed reservoir holds 0.5 quarts of peanut splits or suet nuggets, which birds can reach through the 0.375� square metal mesh band. A metal shroud surrounds the rest of the unit, with a weight sensitive spring mechanism inside it. When squirrels or birds larger than 5.5 ounces rest on the feeder, their weight pulls the shroud downward and closes the seed ports. This metal casing allows clinging birds to dine with ease, an even forms a prop to support woodpeckers. An innovative ventilation system also allows hot air to escape at the top of the seed tube, while cooler, fresh air enters at the base. This keeps seed fresh and prevents mustiness. A negative grip hanger attaches to the top of the piece, preventing squirrels from gripping the hanger and pilfering seed, and the unit disassembles without any tools for thorough cleaning. The weight sensitive mechanism may be adjusted to accommodate more or less weight, depending upon your needs. Hang this feeder with its included hanging rod, ensuring it is at least 18� away from a secure foothold for the squirrels.
