The ceramic lid acts as a snuffer to extinguish the flames, and the cast iron finial becomes a handle. The cream colored glaze creates a neutral look on the piece, to blend with any setting, and an unglazed ring around the top and base of the unit brings dimension and more texture. The flat base allows the vessel to sit on any level, fireproof surface, and its hollow design makes repositioning it simple.
