The tall feeder has a square top and base, with a rectangular, tapered reservoir. The beige color of the top and base add a natural look, while the warm orange hues on the column lend an exciting finish to the piece. Raised rectangles line each facet of the feeder for a textured effect, evoking Mayan pyramids and temples. The reservoir holds 1 quart of seed, and two ports at the base enable it to exit onto the tray. A raised lip on the base creates perching for several birds and keeps seed in one place, and four drainage holes help seed stay dry. A baffle at the base of the unit helps direct seed from the column onto the tray, preventing it from accumulating in the feeder. The ceramic construction lends hardiness to the piece.
