| Purple Martin SuperGourd Insert Trap Prevent European starlings and house sparrows from overtaking your purple martin gourds with the Purple Martin SuperGourd Insert Trap. This trap easily converts one of your preexisting SuperGourds into a humane trap. Using the sparrows' and starlings' natural instinct to search for cavities, this unit closes the bird in a gourd until you can release it. The nylon mounting clips attach to the round or crescent entrance hole of your SuperGourd, and the attached metal wire holds the shutter open. When a bird flies into the gourd and places weight on the trip lever, the door will close, keeping it inside. The shutter is colored vivid orange, easily seen from a distance and indicating when the trap has engaged. Be sure to remove the bird from the trap to positively identify it. The aluminum body and zinc-plated hardware form a sturdy item for use over and over again. Protect your gourds from being overtaken using this Purple Martin SuperGourd Insert Trap.
