When finished tumbling, situate the mixer with the current day of the week facing upward, to help aerate the compost even more. The extra thick, black plastic walls help retain heat, cooking your compost and speeding the decomposition process. The plastic is also enhanced with UV inhibitors, for protection against the sun for several seasons. Small holes around the vessel allow more air into the mix, and help excess water drain out to maintain the right moisture and temperature levels.
